bio-hazard bags

hello hello

well yes, the semester and the projects are getting on...here's one more.

we aim to go out next friday and put biohazzards in their rightful place - a biohazzard bag, with information about why it is such, and where to learn more (link, or qr code?)

do you want to help? still figuring out exactly what is a biohazzard and how not to get arrested doing this....

here is what i have so far....

biohazards

1. toys

http://www.healthystuff.org/departments/toys/about.findings.php

as of december 2009, high levels of lead were found in the following toys:

Barbie Bike Flair Accessory Kit,
Dora the Explorer Activity Tote,
Kids Poncho from WalMart,
MSY Shoes by Faded Glory,
Reversible Croco Belt by Cherokee and
The Kids Source Magenta/Orange Open-toed shoes

2. PVC - anything with PVC may be considered an environmental health hazard due to the very damaging production process of PVC production

3. meat

The USDA estimates that more than 335 million tons of manure are produced annually on U.S. farms.5 Stored for long periods of time in giant tanks or lagoons, the animal waste decomposes and pollutes the air with hundreds of different gases.6 These storage facilities are often located next to animal confinement facilities, with the livestock and the people who work with them continually exposed to harmful gases.7 Additional air pollution is caused when huge amounts of stored manure are sprayed onto fields.

Hydrogen sulfide, methane, ammonia, and carbon dioxide are the major hazardous gases produced by decomposing manure.8 The EPA estimates that methane emissions from manure increased by 26 percent in the United States between 1990 and 2004, due primarily to larger, more concentrated dairy cow and swine facilities.9

4. fruit and vegetables - pesticides
