Regardless of what the mission was, this project is a simple yet solid exploration of cooperation and human contact between strangers in urban areas. Note too that Malkoff depended on Twitter to mobilize strangers to meet him at a street corner and carry him when volunteers were scarce. How much of his success was due to participants wanting attention is up for debate, but the idea of getting strangers to help you, to cooperate in helping you, and to physically respond to your online call for help is very much reflective of our increasingly fragmented, yet at the same time, connected society.
