One of his better known projects Fluid Nexus (2008-09) is an application for mobile phones that enables activists to send messages and data amongst themselves independent of a centralized cellular network. This allows for communication in instances where the centralized network has been shut down or is under surveillance.

More recently Nick has developed a series of Firefox extensions designed to aggregates information about colleges and universities involved in what he identifies as the military-academic-industrial complex or MAIC. The screen shot above is a still from Firefox running the MAICgregator (2009) extension on the University of California's official website.

A similar script was written to address privacy concerns with worldcat.org, Cornell University's online library catalog provider. When running the Replace Library Form (2009)script adds a detailed warning statement to the library homepage.
